Strengthening Global Research Collaborations – My APAN60 Fellowship Experience

I had the honour of representing ERNET India as an APAN Fellow at the 60th Asia Pacific Advanced Network (APAN60) Meeting, held in Hong Kong from 28 July to 1 August 2025.

The five-day event brought together global experts, researchers, and industry leaders to discuss advancements in IPv6/SRv6 deployment, BGP monitoring, network security, quantum-safe cryptography, and high-performance networking. I had the opportunity to present my research on Quantum Key Distribution Protocols with Trojan Horse Side Channel Attacks, which led to engaging technical discussions and opened doors for collaborations with Nokia, as well as research partners from Japan and Singapore on quantum communication testbeds.

This fellowship has not only enhanced my knowledge and professional network but also aligned ERNET India’s goals with APAN’s strategic focus on climate-resilient networks and digital inclusion. The experience has laid the foundation for impactful, long-term collaborations in the Asia-Pacific research networking community.
